lyrics
Hey god bone - fossilized into a stone
Buried in the wooly earth
Comfortable for what it's worth
Speak thy name - punishment without the shame
A tree, a limb, a twig - simple as a whirligig
Aquinas says he knows
Artemis draws her bow
Aquinas says he knows
An arrow flies away
Proof's in the pudding pound - nose like a baying hound
Children in his image made - certainty amidst the fade
Chill the unwilling flesh - never let it know the crèche
Words always stay the hand - buried in creator's land
Aquinas says he knows
Artemis draws her bow
Aquinas says he knows
An arrow flies away
Hey God bone?
Leave this fragile world alone
Hey God bone?
Just leave my fragile world alone
A fantastic album. I can see why they didn't continue under the name The Evens, as it's a different sound with the bass added. Coriky is the Evens + Joe Lally from Fugazi on bass. If you can imagine The Evens with a slightly more funky, aggressive sound like Fugazi... that's what you get! And there's no way that can ever go wrong. What a great debut album!! smiledozer
